Beauty shot by Arthur Nicolas

As a Technical Level Designer I conceived tools to facilitate the blockout process in the constraints of the project.
The cave is divided in multiple rooms that respect particular metrics to allow a high modularity and the possibility to randomize the cave at each started game. The tool ensured that level designers and artists worked within the bounds of each room and generated tunnels between them.
The tool also generates a landscape and takes meshes as inputs to add volumes to it, with multiple parameters to adjust the smoothness and noise of these added or subtracted shapes. Other shapes can be used to define where ramps and stairs will be generated, removing the generation of cliffs for these areas.

In addition I was in charge of the producing on the project. A real challenge for a student game concept made with 9 other students, in only 4 months, aiming for a release on Steam, while in the middle of a pandemic.
